On the afternoon of November 29, the 2024 China-ASEAN College Student AI Application Innovation Invitation Competition officially commenced at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event was co-hosted by Guangxi Financial Vocational College, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), and the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Digital Economy, under the guidance of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangxi Committee and the Nanning Data Bureau. The event was organized by Guangxi Tus Innovation Cross-border E-commerce Co., Ltd. and Brunsfield TusStar Sdn. Bhd. (TusStar Malaysia)
Li Gaoyan, Party Secretary of Guangxi Financial Vocational College, delivered the opening address.
Su Yingming, Director of the RCEP Promotion and Implementation Center of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangxi Committee, also shared remarks.
Dr. Lee Sze Wei, President of Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, addressed the audience.

Mo Haiqin, Vice Chair and General Manager of the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, delivered a thematic presentation, while Xie Peishan, Vice President of Guangxi Financial Vocational College, presided over the ceremony.

Under the theme “AI + Education Integration and Innovation: Cultivating Modern Digital Craftsmen”, the competition aligns with the Belt and Road Initiative and leverages the “Digital+” and “Smart+” development trends. Centered on the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Digital Economy, the competition recruits innovative student teams from China, Malaysia, Thailand, and other ASEAN countries. Participants are tasked with using AI technology to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, honing their global vision and practical capabilities in the digital economy.
The event provides participants with a platform aligned with international standards, driving the application of AI technology in emerging industries and advancing high-quality development of the digital economy between China and ASEAN countries.
