To thoroughly implement the important instructions and spirit delivered by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), during his inspection tour in Hunan, fully implement the guiding principles of the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as the Seventh and Eighth Plenary Sessions of the 12th Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and to align with the grand blueprint of the “Three Highlands and Four New Missions,” an international platform for the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship resources is being established.
With the goal of fostering a sound innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem featuring “attracting talents through competition and promoting innovation through competition,” and supporting the development of Changsha as a global R&D center city, sustained efforts will be made to build a highland of technological innovation with strong core competitiveness.
Accordingly, the 2025 Hunan (International) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is hereby launched.
The international registration channel is officially open!
Two International Sub-tracks: Cultural and Technological Integration, Biomedicine
Participation Requirements: Teams (or individuals) worldwide who have not yet established a legal entity, as well as enterprises legally established outside Hunan Province.
Registration Timeline: May 12 – June 15, 2025
Preliminary Round: （June 20 – Early July 2025）, organized by municipal and prefectural science and technology bureaus and third-party institutions, the preliminary round will select and recommend outstanding projects to advance to the semifinals by established procedures.
Semifinal Round: （Mid to Late July 2025; exact dates to be announced）. For the International Sub-tracks, the semifinal round will be conducted via online roadshow.
Final Round: (Mid to Late August 2025; exact dates to be announced). The final round will feature on-site project roadshows. Based on performance, each group will award one First Prize, two Second Prizes, three Third Prizes, and several Excellence Awards.
What can you gain?
Prize:
-1st prize: ¥ 500000- 2nd prize: ¥ 300000 - 3rd prize: ¥ 200000 - Multiple excellent awards: ¥ 100000 。After the end of the competition, if the winning projects of enterprises or teams from other provinces are successfully implemented and transformed in Hunan within two years, they will be given a 1:1 follow-up support according to the original award amount.
Landing Support:
For winning project: the Competition Organizing Committee will assign dedicated liaisons to facilitate the process for winning projects that intend to implement locally in Hunan (with registered business entities in Hunan Province). Projects from the Cultural and Technological Integration track can gain support from Malanshan Video Cultural & Creative Park with comprehensive "one-stop" implementation services provided to accelerate local project realization in Hunan.
For the talent:
Participating teams and individuals meeting the requirements of the "Furong Plan" proposed by Hunan Province will be recruited through due procedures and granted support, with top-tier talent teams eligible for maximum funding of RMB 100 million.
